Setup problem small objects
10/06/14 at 10:13:30

Hi Tony ,

Maybe you can help : I want to set up a binary with caracteristics :
1 : M = 1.03e+13 kg ; Rbody =0.5 km , Red
2: m = 2.708e+12 kg ; Rbody =0.25 km , Pink

in circular orbit with sma = 2235 meters !

Every time I want to add an extra body to this system ,  orbiting the barycenter , I see the priorly caracteristics have changed .
Can it be the program has a problem with < 1 km objects ? ( looks as I have a "decimal point problem" at input .
I would then want to add 4 additional bodies , each having radius 10 meters .

at 20 km , 15 km , 10 km , 5 km around the center of gravity of the binary .

Is it possible to try this set-up ?
Kind regards

Seems like a metric system problem.
If M1 has a RADIUS of half a km, and sma = less than half km (2235 meters), then you have created an object within an object.

I  don't think  there is a collision problem , see my red marking .
I was very carefull about creating objects inside another .
I rather think Windows API has a problem with an input with decimal point . I had the same issue earlier .
What I get is that , when I input a value , let the sim run , and then want to see in edit mode the created objects , some parameters have gotten really funny values .
Don't know why , but it seems this problem arises when I input x.y values ; ie. values having a decimal point .
Or schould I use comma as decimal point ?
Can someone else try out this setup I defined above ?

I didn't have any trouble setting up this system.  Take some screenshots as you try to set it up so I can see what you're doing.

Hi Tony , thanks for the sim .
But , it doesn't open if I click . Maybe I use another version of GSim?
When I run other files I get under Info : version 1.1.145 . Should I upgrade ?
