Rotating UV maps

Somewhat out of topic here , but nevertheless beautiful for the eye :
Here's an animation of the Iapetus moon of Saturn showing a full revolution .
The animation was made using a PowerBasic executable converting the UV map (freely available ) into a xy side representation of the moon .
For reasons of file size the animation was strongly reduced . The original file is 25MB , has 256 colors and 312 frames , wheras this representation only has 8 colors and 27 frames.
Other nice moons are Io , Enceladus and even Triton .
For those who are interested I can provide the code as an executable .
Maps can be found here : http://maps.jpl.nasa.gov/

For those who want to try themselve :
here's an executable :
rename from .doc to .exe and let run ...
The program will ask for a filename .
You can insert the filename of a planetary map as .bmp .
( the program doesn't accept .jpg )

Edit : uploaded a more performing code

I'll send a bitmap of one of the planets to try out .
In Annex a new version of the above code , where it's possible to zoom by the mousewheel .
Rename .doc to .exe to make an executable .
