In aug 1979 the Solwind mission captured a comet grazing the sun . Since then some 15 more were discovered by this probe .

Here's an animation of the path of the comet going back in time , as could be viewed from Pluto , looking down on Mercury and Venus . It is thought the comet has a hyperbolic path .  
One frame in this animation covers about 1 venusian year .
