I'm curious how fast Gravity Simulator runs on various machines. So I'd like to do a test. Anyone is free to participate.
Step 1: download this sim:
http://orbitsimulator.com/gravity/simulations/CPUtest.gsim Step 2: Open Gravity Simulator.
Step 3: Press the Pause button.
Step 4: Open the simulation you just downloaded. It begins at time=0/1/0000 00:00:00, timestep=1 and in the Don't Plot mode. And becaue of step 3, it begins paused.
Step 5: Use a stop watch or other means to accurately time 1 minute. Unpause the program (keeping it in the don't plot mode even though it appears frozen.)
Step 6: After EXACTLY 1 minute press the pause button.
Step 7: Press the "Plot / Don't Plot" button to turn plotting on.
Step 8: As fast as you can, unpause and then IMMEDIATELY re-pause the program.
Step 9: Record the time and date.
Step 10: Report back here with the findings. Please include what type of processor your computer uses and its speed. Also include if you're using Gravity Simulator 2.0 or the beta version.
Thank you for your cooperation.
