Title: Fomalhaut and HR 8799 systems?
Post by Mal on 11/15/08 at 10:15:34

Anyone tried to make these in grav sim yet? Does anyone have the most up to date info on them too? All I can find is on wiki right now, but it doesn't look like there's much information available yet (no eccentricities for the HR 8799 system).

Here's the reference paper of the discovery .

No data till yet about eccentricity .
Other orbital parameters have still a lot of sigma .
GREAT job for the team !

Maybe there's stuff to discover about the system with Gravity Simulator.  The wiki page talks about a brown dwarf at 5 AU, and that its eccentricity may have implications on the structure of the dust cloud.

I think the HR 8799 discoverers work just down the road from me at the HIA (Herzburg Institute of Astrophysics)!

Here is the data for planet Fomalhaut B:

http://exoplanet.eu/planet.php?p1=Fomalhaut&p2=b

And here is the data for the disc :

Inclination: 1.5
Excentricity: 0.11

reference: http://arxiv.org/abs/0811.1985

Fomalhaut B is coplanar with the disc, so, your inclination is also 1.5

A really interesting animation of the system can be found here ( can take some while to download )
