Title: Xi Ursae Majoris
Post by Maastrichian on 10/28/06 at 23:28:54

Has anyone made a simulation for this system?  I've tried, but it seems that I just can't wrap my head around the mathematics of it (no surprise; I'm lucky I can run a simple calculator when it comes to math!).

Not that I know of.  You can be the first.  I just Googled it.  From what I can tell, it's a 4-star system, a pair of doubles, and there may be a distant 5th star.

I don't think the orientations of the spectroscopic binaries are known (giving you full freedom to simply make it up :) ).  I'll try to find the relavant data tommorow.  Then I can help you simulate this system.

Would this be any use?
